Focusing on the urgent transition to renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency, the theme of Clean Energy is essential.
Within this context, topics such as the use of photovoltaic panels and how they contribute to the production of decentralized renewable energy, as well as the creation of renewable energy communities will be explored.
Through curated content and a conference aligned with this theme, the objective is to showcase how the energy infrastructure of the city of Porto is actively reducing dependence on fossil fuels and fostering sustainable practices that support carbon neutrality. This effort represents a collaborative initiative involving the Municipality, academia, and society in general.

Conference
During the conference, the use of photovoltaic panels was explored, providing insights into how they can contribute to decentralised renewable energy production.
The first panel, dedicated to current use cases, examined renewable energy projects in the city of Porto and featured Filipe Araújo (Vice-President of Porto City Council) and Adélio Mendes (lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto – FEUP).
The second panel, focusing on the future of clean energy—from marine energy to energy communities—featured Rui Pimenta (Board Member of Porto Energy Agency), José Luís Alexandre (teacher at FEUP), and Francisco Taveira Pinto (Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP).
Finally, the audience had the opportunity to visit the renewable energy project in the Agra Amial neighbourhood, which consists of a set of photovoltaic panels connected to an efficient local energy production system, making a significant impact on the community.
